Our Origin

NatureCo did not begin as an idea on paper. It emerges from over a decade of innovation, collaboration, learning and delivery on the ground at the front line of nature restoration in Ireland.

The company builds on the mission, experience, and credibility of The Nature Trust, a not-for-profit social enterprise that has delivered award-winning restoration projects and pioneered new approaches to nature-based finance in Ireland and MKO, Ireland’s largest environmental consultancy. Through this work, a clear insight emerged: while ambition for restoration was growing, the structures needed to deliver it at scale were not keeping pace. 

NatureCo was created to meet that moment.

The founding team behind NatureCo brings experience across ecological restoration, environmental governance and management, civil engineering, hydrology, remote sensing, nature finance, land management and multi-stakeholder delivery. Together, they have:

  3. Managed complex, large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects across a range of habitats
  4. Secured regulatory consent for some of Ireland’s most complex infrastructure projects
